1. Who We Are
Nino is an anti-scam iOS application built for Filipino families. It is developed and operated by Santino Gatmaytan, based in the Philippines. You can reach us at santino.gatmaytan@gmail.com.
2. What We Collect
On this website (waitlist)
- Your name and email address when you join the waitlist
- Whether you opted in to be notified about the Philippine Scam Database launch
In the Nino iOS app
- On-device pattern matching: The initial scam verdict runs entirely on your iPhone using a local database. No data leaves your device for this step.
- AI explanation (optional): If you accept the AI disclosure prompt, the text you submit for a manual check is sent to Groq's API to generate a human-readable explanation. Per Groq's API terms, they do not use API data for model training. No phone numbers, contacts, or call logs are ever transmitted.
- Anonymous crash reports (if you have opted in to Apple's diagnostic sharing)
- App Store purchase receipts (if you upgrade to Nino Pro)
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your waitlist email exclusively to:
- Send you a TestFlight invite when Nino launches
- Notify you about the Philippine Scam Database if you opted in (one email, no drip sequence)
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything beyond the two purposes above.
4. Data Storage
Waitlist data is stored in a secured PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon (Singapore region). Access is restricted to the founding team only. We use row-level security and encrypted connections at all times.
5. Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Request deletion of your waitlist entry
- Update your email or name
- Opt out of database notifications

6. Children
Nino is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, if you are on the waitlist, send you a notification email before the changes take effect.
